Who is behind Clear Moon Therapy?

HI! I am Darshana! I'm a registered social worker providing support to individuals struggling with anxiety, depression and racial identity. As a second generation Indian-Canadian, I understand the unique challenges that individuals can experience taking up space in an environment that may not feel comfortable to them.

What makes Clear Moon Therapy different?

I focus on providing therapy that is culturally sensitive, goal-oriented, and tailored to busy professionals. My approach prioritizes actionable strategies to help you balance your personal and professional lives while addressing self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and communication challenges.

Who do you work with?

I primarily work with ambitious professionals aged 25–45, particularly those from BIPOC communities, navigating major life transitions like career changes, relocation, or relationship challenges.

I provide the following therapy services:

Are sessions in person or virtual?

All sessions are conducted virtually to provide maximum flexibility and convenience for busy professionals. In-person sessions will be made available starting February 2025!

How does therapy work?

Therapy involves guiding clients through identity and cultural challenges using empathy and tailored strategies like mindfulness or journaling. It serves as a bridge, fostering personal growth and helping clients navigate intergenerational conflicts while harmonizing their inner worlds with cultural narratives.

What issues do you specialize in?

I provide therapy to help folks navigate through stress, anxiety and social expectations to foster relationships with themselves and others. I specifically work with people of colour to help with understand and make sense of their lived experiences.

Cost and Payment

How much do sessions cost?

Psychotherapy Sessions are $160.00 per 50 minute session, including HST. Affordable Therapy is also available at a reduced rate of $80.00 per 50 minute session.Registered Social Workers or Counsellors are covered by most extended health benefits. While I do not directly bill to insurance providers, I am able to provide you with an invoice for you to submit to your provider.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! Most Health Benefits providers accept Therapy services as part of their extended benefits. Please note that I don’t bill insurance directly, but I can provide detailed receipts for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement, if applicable.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept all major debit and credit cards. I also kindly request all clients to provide Credit Card details in advance of our first Psychotherapy sessions.

Credit card information is not required for consultations.

Getting Started

How do I book an appointment?

You can book a free 15-minute consultation or schedule a session directly through my booking link.

What can I expect during the first consultation?

The consultation is an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and goals, and determine if we’re a good fit. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions about my approach or the process. Therapy is a co-created process between you (the client) and myself (the therapist). There is no one size fits all approach. Each session may be different, but what you can expect is to be met by me, ready to listen.

Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Yes, you can cancel or reschedule appointments up to 24 hours in advance without a fee. Late cancellations may incur a charge.

I offer flexible scheduling, including evening appointments, to accommodate your professional and personal commitments. Virtual therapy allows you to attend sessions from anywhere, making it easy to prioritize your mental health. My booking link will always be up to date with my latest availability.

Yes, all sessions are conducted on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms to ensure your privacy and confidentiality guidelines are met.

Will my information be shared with anyone?

No, your information is kept strictly confidential and will only be shared with your explicit consent, unless required by law.

How do I know my therapy sessions are secure?

The platform I use meets the highest security standards for online communication. You can feel confident that your privacy is protected.
